What is an Integral Salon? -

What is an Integral Salon?

Participants meet twice a month to deepen their understanding of themselves and the universe.  Each session focuses on a different way in which the practice or "embodiment" of an Integral framework can enrich our lives and transform our world.

Cincinnati's Integral Salon meets at Jewish Family Service from 7-9 pm on the first and third Wednesday of every month.

"I am delighted with it, and grateful for it. Integral thinkers thrive on the fellowship of like-minded people! It helps put together all the diverse perspectives, religions, psychologies, and other "ologies" into a coherent and useable framework. Exciting and nourishing for those who can appreciate it!"                    Mylo Groen (Aug 21, 2007) member of Integral Salon in Tuscon, AZ

What is an Integral Approach?

"Integral means comprehensive, holistic, inclusive, nonmarginalizing, embracing...."

An integral approach attempts to include as many perspectives, styles, and methodologies as possible within a coherent view of the topic.  In a certain sense, integral approaches are 'meta-paradigms,' or ways to draw together an already existing number of separate paradigms into an interrelated network of approaches that are mutually enriching.

OK, so it's not so easy to understand at first blush, but neither is quantum physics!  If you have an open and inquiring mind, check out these resources...

THE MEANING BEHIND MAMASH -

THE MEANING BEHIND MAMASH

There is no expression in English that encompasses the meaning of the Hebrew word 'MAMASH.'  Instead of a word, the only equivalent in the English language is an exclamation mark (!)

For example, if you see a sunset in all of its amazing beauty, you might say, "That's beautiful!"  Notice the exclamation mark?  That's where the word 'MAMASH' goes.

The same can be said about Rabbi Heyn's band.  MAMASH is a loosely-knit network of musicians engaged in developing an integral approach to life, music, and spirituality.
